This plugin is suitable to use for kicks, guitars, snares, pianos, vocals, synths, and more. One of the cool things about both the original 560 and this plugin version is the API’s Proportional Q, which narrows the frequency range as you push the gain of each EQ band along with the 8-band bandgap this gives the excellent musical character of the API 560 plugin. Through a detailed modeling process, Waves was able to capture the precise nature of the 560’s filtering nuances and high-headroom performance, providing you with the sound-shaping flexibility of the original, along with all of its sonic idiosyncrasies. It is a versatile tool with 10 bands extending from 31Hz up to 16kHz in octave ranges and a large headroom from the 2520 op-amp circuit and providing that American API sound. The API 560 is a graphic EQ originally built for API consoles in the 60s and 70s.
